I have a question. I have medical card. Going to the U.S to visit family for a month. Just wondering, if anything happens there, will my medical card over the cost? Like accident or sick?

Hi Surenj,

Usually yes, it's covered within 90days for illness inpatient and some policy do cover without the 90days restriction. Unless your policy specifically excluded. However, it's required to get a itemized billing, original receipts, discharge note and medical report, better still pay by credit card and show credit card statement in order not to loss the exchange rate. It's still subject to Malaysia Medical Association guideline.

Do read your policy wording under overseas treatment.

Hope you get good input from my comment.

Read your policy and find clause "Cover outside Malaysia" or "Not cover for outside Malaysia".

In addition, it is better to get Travel Insurance as additional plan while travelling.
