I don't really understand what you mean. Are you referring to copy if insurance application after you've submitted? Because most of insurance companies are going paperless. We do not keep a hardcopy of insurance application. But for my agency, we do have a softcopy for all the forms, all reports, and all requirements needed to process an insurance application. So whenever we want to retrieve back, it is easier, as all of them are digitally saved. Hope this helps! ~Syahidah +6010 293 5424

Hi Yuan Kao, 

If you were talking about insurance policy, you can throw it after expiry if don't have any claims. It's advise to keep for 7 years because third party bodily injury still can file claim in 6-7 years time.

If you were asking about how long can an insurance application approve, it depends on what kind of insurance you were talking about. 

If you were asking about how long an insurance can be done, it depends on what kind of insurance, most general insurance can immediate cover.

For vehicle insurance, with just a click of button, your application is approve and pay what premium is.

For policy book/certificate, some company have e-certificate, they just send ti e-mail.

Some company use hard copy, will mail to your address.

Some company have both.

For your information, insurance agents NOT mail to your address, but company did.

Contact your insurance company to confirm where your certificate are.
